One source is NCAR graphics if you have access to it. If you don't you
can get it for various platforms for a reasonable price. It is a nice
graphics package. IDL also has maps but for ton's more money. There are
also various other packages -- some public domain and some not.
For CCM we many times just plot the ORO field. Do a contour for ORO=0.5.
It gives you a contour of what the model is actually using for land/ocean
mask. Ussually this is what you want anyway. You can overlay this contour
on your other plots quite easily. Using Yorick (a public domain interpereter
for computation/plotting) or NCL (NCAR graphics Command Language -- interpreter
interface to NCAR graphics) the above can be done quite readily -- especially
on netCDF files. There are tools to convert regular CCM history tape files
to netCDF. NCL 4.1alpha also reads CCM history tape files directly.
