Dear colleagues,

I want to calculate the zonal- and vertical- mean meridional heat
transport by the atmosphere as a function of latitude from a model
output using ccm processor.

I used the following two sets of INPUT CONTROL PARAMETERS:

1) FIELDA1 = 'VT'
   DERFLD = 'VTT',111,2,31,0,'V','T',':TIMES',9.80616,':DIVIDE',
            1004.,':TIMES',6.2831852,':TIMES', 6.37122E6, ':TIMES',
            1.E15,':DIVIDE','DP',':INVINTT','.TCOSL','.ZAV','.END',
            'VT',111,0,31,0,'VTT','.LEVEL01','.END'
   SAVMHSL = 'TAV'
   SHSLZAV = 'YES'
   ZONAVG = 'YES'
   SAVHSLA = 'filename'

2) FIELDA1 = 'VT'
   DERFLD = 'VTT',111,2,31,0,'V','T',':TIMES',9.80616,':DIVIDE',
            1004.,':TIMES',6.2831852,':TIMES', 6.37122E6, ':TIMES',
            1.E15,':DIVIDE','DP',':INVINTT','.TCOSL','.END',

Note the *only* difference between case 1) and 2) is there is
a '.ZAV' in DERFLD of the first case.

These two sets give me two different answers. It looks like that '.TCOSL'
is operating in the first case but not the second. I couldn't understand
why. Besides, the amplitude of the results are somewhat off: maximum
value is around 8 PW, is this a little too high?

So my question are:

1) If I specified ZONAVG = 'YES', do I need to use '.ZAV' again?
   or should '.ZAV' and 'ZONAVG = yes' be used together or just
   one (which one?) is enough?

2) If you have a working sample to do the calculations, would you mind
   sharing it with me?
