NAMELIST problem with CHARACTER data on shavano

We have discovered (and reported) problems with NAMELIST when reading
CHARACTER array data. This is a problem that has only recently
materialized under UNICOS 8.0 (8.0 has been running on shavano since
Monday), and does not appear to be associated with the new version of
the compiler. The symptom is that when character arrays of more than
2 elements are specified, only the first and last elements are
processed! The problem appears to be that the data is not read into
the correct array elements or is ignored. This is a potentially
serious problem for CCM2 users who may be employing NAMELIST
parameters such as PRIMARY, EXCLUDE, etc. CRAY is investigating this
problem and we hope that a fix will be available soon.
