In a posting Thursday, the CCM Core Group provided a detailed example
of how to incorporate the estabv.mods changes into an r15 resolution
model. In order to ensure that I was incorporating the mods to my t42
model, I first duplicated the r15 experiment from the CCM Core Group with
success.
Now that I knew the changes were being incorporated as the Core Group
specifies, I transferred all the relevant files from the /ccm/ccm1/t42
directory, including a fresh version of generic.deck. I then
incorporated the mods into the t42 deck exactly as I had done with r15.
As with the Core Group, I ran 2 tests: one with lrw.mods (a) and another
with both lrw.mods and estabv.mods (b).
At timestep zero, the global integrals are identical:
case a: lrw.mods
NSTEP RMSZ RMSD RMST STPS
NSTEP = 0 0.883917E-04 0.799398E-05 0.250887E+03 0.984487E+05

0.230490E+02 0.253593E+10 0.145443E+07 0.253738E+10
case b: lrw.mods and estabv.mods
NSTEP RMSZ RMSD RMST STPS
NSTEP = 0 0.883917E-04 0.799398E-05 0.250887E+03 0.984487E+05

Question:
Why does the t42 version not respond to the estabv.mods like
the r15 version?
