Subject: changing vertical resolution

Does anyone know of an algorithm for selecting vertical resolution in
CCM2? I'd like to increase the number of layers in CCM2, but want to do
it without introducing large changes in layer thickness from one layer
to another. I've never seen an algorithm published, but there must be
some simple continuous function that can be used to relate pressure to
layer index.
