03.05.01 Thunderbird Configuration

Configuration for access to email while connected to the internal network.

  • Select account actions and select add mail account.



  • A new account wizard will come up enter your name, email address, and your Linux password.



  • Select manual configuration.



    • Incoming server settings.

  • Server Name: mailhub.cgd.ucar.edu
  • port: 993
  • Connection Security: ssl/tls
  • Authentication: Normal password The username and password for this server will be your Linux username and password.



    • Out Going Server Settings are as follows:

  • ServerName: mailhub.cgd.ucar.edu
  • Port:25
  • Connection Security: none
  • Authentication: Password, transmitted insecurely (Use your Linux username and password)
  • Select create account.
