Dear CCM users,

I am curious about the 'frcsol' values in 'radcsw.F' below about
300 nm. These numbers correspond with TOA values from reliable
sources (SUSIM, Labs and Neckels). However, the model atmosphere
starts at approximately 40 km. At this altitude, already about
90% of the radiation between 200-285 nm has been attenuated
(Warneck 1988, p67-68 Fig 2-9). I expect that the radiation code
has been parameterized with the current values to yield good
results. Does anybody know if there is a reason the upper
atmosphere attenuation below about 285 nm was not considered?

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Gerhard Gross
