Ccm group:

I recently received the below msg regarding the planned NATO
Advanced Studies Institute in which ccm3 will be used as a
case study of sorts. This appears to be directed mainly toward
students of the various NATO countries. I'm wondering if cgd,
the ccm core group, or possibly an inter-divisional ncar group
could offer something similiar in the US, possibly directed
more specifically to ccm users and/or fundamental climate and
GCM design and software development. Such a seminar or tutorial
series could address strategies for software design of coupled
models, and in the rapidly changing super-computing and shared
memory multi-processing environment.

I think there are many students, scientists, and software engineers
in the US today who are struggling w/ the basic problems of designing
software that best serves the scientific demands of atmospheric modeling
in the current computing environment, and who would benefit from such
a tutorial series or conference.
