Hi All,

I am writing to find out if anyone else has had a similar experience w/
the type of run described below.

I am running ccm.3.6 at T31 resolution with
DTIME=1800
DIF2 = 2.5e5
DIF4 = 2.e16.

The model is forced by the climatological SST dataset T42M5079.nc
that I interpolated to T31. The atmospheric initial condition
is from the dataset DEC1.T42.0198.nc interpolated to T31 as well.

The start date of the run is 00001201. In 000308 the run exceeded the
CFL limit (at least the CUBYDR error message is printed).
The standard out file has a few hundred printingS of
the COURLIM error message w/ k,j = 1,10. Exceeding the limit
in August at the top of the atmosphere over Antarctica does seem likely.

I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience at T31 resolution.
Since this is a fairly standard run, there is a good chance
that someone else likely specified the same run? If any users
have had a similar experience, please send me a message.

I restarted the run in 000303 with DTIME = 900 to see if
the model gets past that point. I am going to do a series of
25 yr runs at T31 and hope to be able to use DTIME = 1800.

Thanks,

Jan
