Subject: Sensitivity of cloudiness to surface roughness ?

Fellow CCM3-users,
Has anyone ever tested the sensitivity of CCM3 to the surface roughness ?
I am finding that the low level cloudiness decreases in the mid-latitudes in
spring and summer where the roughness length of the surface is increased.
Has this been noticed by anyone ? Does anyone have an idea of the processes
involved ?
