The purpose of this workshop was to assess key factors involved in the production of long-term scenarios of U.S. demographic change for use in interdisciplinary analysis of social and environmental issues. The workshop identified key user needs for demographic information; assessed observational, data, and modeling capabilities to produce such long-term projections; and considered the relevance of non-demographic factors and global context for U.S. demographic change.
